Very excited to get started however, still narrowing down the background fabric choices. Anyone using something other than white?

Just found the forums. Anyone know if the forums will be around after the QAL ends? I am behind on the QAL due to family issues and needing to find my bright fabric in my stash. I'm hoping to use a light gray or white background, black body and bright pieces . Hopefully I can work on it this weekend.
I like to shop my stash as well. Had a ton of white from a very specific project, recently completed, so white it is. Hoping I have enough red to make it pop.
I’ve gone for a pale red print on a white background, hope it goes ok directionally but it’s been cut now so here we go!
Gone for an aqua/pale turquoise plain - abandoned the white!
I’m thinking about using a textured background from Carolyn Friedlander’s Architectures line. White with black crosshatching. I’d really like to pull all of my fabrics from my stash.🤞🏻
My background is an off white with some icons -- Ballerina Fusion from AGF it's the Coming Home fabric. It is either birds or tents? They are directional but I think I can work with it. I have trouble with just stark white fabric I worry I will get it dirty.
I also wanted to use a gray background but covid had other plans! I'm not able to go out and shop and I didn't want to have to try and do the matching over the internet. Instead I went with a tone on tone white.
Hi !
Also very excited about this. I am thinking about a grey confetti background. Its ombre, so I have to really think how I cut it...Never used a dark background, which does not mean much for a beginner😂 and a medium pink for the body ( which was inspired by a gorgeous rose in my moms garden). Hopefully this will work. Other than that I have a pink and red mix for contrast. Can not wait to see all the different versions.

I used similar colors on a second version of my dragonfly quilt, but with Kona Cotton Ash for the background. It gave the whole quilt a much softer and subtle look: https://www.instagram.com/p/CByotBrA7dx/
Me too! I am using a light beige for the Background, it has a Cross hatch partern covering it. I hope its not top busy.
